The San Luis Valley Seed Exchange is a long-standing community tradition, now entering its 16th year in Saguache County. We gained traction over the years and since 2021, the event has welcomed approximately 200+ attendees each day, reflecting a growing interest in local food, seed stewardship, and hands-on education. Thanks to community support, the Seed Exchange remains free and accessible to the public.
Sponsorships make it possible for us to remove barriers to participation while expanding the depth and reach of the event. Your support helps ensure that knowledge, seeds, and resources are shared widely, locally and regionally, while strengthening our regional foodshed and honoring the people who have long stewarded this land.
The SLV Seed Exchange is fiscally sponsored 501(c)3 organization, and your sponsorship may qualify as a tax-deductible donation.
What Your Sponsorship Supports
Your sponsorship helps provide:
Free admission for all attendees
A large, open community seed swap table
Space for local vendors to share gardening and agricultural resources
One to two local food vendors
A speaker series featuring 6–8 presenters aligned with the annual theme
Spanish interpretation of the Speaker Series by the SLV Language Justice Cooperative
Professional videography, recording, and publication of speaker talks on YouTube
Because of strong interest in the Speaker Series, we prioritize recording and translating these talks to reach home-bound community members and those unable to attend in person. Spanish interpretation is a newer but essential part of the event, recognizing the vital contributions of Spanish-speaking farmers and land stewards in the Valley. These efforts add cost and coordination, and sponsorships directly support this work.
